Invited Track Speaker

Aaron Steichen, ExxonMobil

Aaron Steichen is a Senior Systems Technical Analyst for ExxonMobil's High Performance Computing division. His team is responsible for engineering, designing, and supporting the HPC systems that enable geophysicists and engineers to tackle some of the industry's most difficult problems by using subsurface imaging, reservoir modeling, chemical simulations and more.

For the past 5 years, Aaron has guided data management and analytics strategies for the division. The role requires a working relationship with the systems' end users, an understanding of the environment’s current technology, and awareness of alternative solutions to evaluate. Recent efforts include application profiling, indexing filesystem metadata with Hadoop, and Lustre hot spot identification. Aaron holds a B.S. in Information Systems from Arizona State University.
